Salted Roots Yellow Door Bus

This was the start of our 9 days in September exploring Alaska, and what a treat! First, we slid into Woody’s Thai (a must if in Seward) to pick-up dinner after a long day of travel and then we settled into the yellow door bus cabin. Upon arriving there was a wedding/wedding celebration underway next door, which was a treat! We took our wine upstairs to the couch facing a large window that overlooked the front, opened the windows and eavesdropped on the celebrations/music. Everything about the cabin was perfect. It’s adorable and upscale at the same time, comfortable and cozy, and tucked away in beautiful surroundings. The welcome gifts were a special treat! So much to do right there on the property. We enjoyed the fire pit and sauna and still regret not taking the kayaks out. I say treat yourself and stay here, it is such a special spot!

Absolutely loved the uniqueness of our stay in our bus/mini house. The time outdoors on our deck and by the fire pit was the best. The quick walk to the water was a highlight for our grandsons. 100% recommend this stay if you are in this area of Alaska.

A true gem! The location was absolutely beautiful, and the cabin was charming, cozy, and well-appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we enjoyed spending time around the fire pit each evening. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway.

The property itself was amazing, we loved the location and decor. Close to the shore, quiet and well kept. What really stood out though was the communication and care of the owners. There were some issues due to sub-zero temperatures that could have put us out of it weren't for the great communication, flexibility and persistence of our hosts. I would recommend and stay again! Thank you for taking such good care of us on our stay away!

We loved our stay at the Yellow Door Bus cabin! The design is so unique, tasteful, and full of thoughtful touches. Everything was beautiful, spotless, and so comfortable. The location right across the street from the beach felt really special, and the beds were incredibly cozy. I loved the bathroom — the shower was amazing! For future guests, it might be helpful to know that [in our opinion] the cabin is best suited for two adults + 1–2 kids, or, two couples without children. We had originally planned to share it with another family, and the kitchen and living room/hang out space would have been a bit too small for us (4 adults + 2 babies). The Salted Roots team was wonderful and helped us figure out the best setup to make sure we were comfortable and able to enjoy our stay to the fullest. We truly loved our time here — and taking a sauna both nights was such a bonus! We can't wait to come back.
