Rustic Roots Seaside Indigo Cabin

This lifelong Alaskan was stoked to find a cozy spot to watch the sea spray freeze, the tide to ebb, and the gulls to fly through a winter storm! Literally nowhere I have ever been in Alaska has a winter, beachfront, fully equipped, modern yet quaint place to stay until Salted Roots. And on the road system! We doubly enjoyed an on-site massage, yoga session, and charcuterie board from our local Seward (new best) friends. Walked the beach until our knee caps crystallized. And in the forest hike to Tonisa Beach, we were free to wander, less frantically, in a fairy land of moss and towering trees. With the bone-chilling temps and sea breeze outside, the cottage stayed toasty with the heat pump. The well-thought-out layout, with ample coat hooks, space for outdoor layers, and layering separate from the sleeping and eating areas, makes this place a real winner. Communication with the host was anticipatory and rapid- A+. My only issue now is finding a future time to book a Salted Roots stay.

Salted Roots location was the best in Seward. A friend had recommended Salted Roots so we booked and were very happy with the location, cleanliness, communication was prompt with the manager on-site. We will be booking again with Salted Roots in the near future and noticed they now have an Anchorage location. Highly recommend!

We were looking for something other than your typical hotel room for an anniversary trip, and the Seaside Indigo Cabin did not disappoint! It is convenient to Seward with good directions as you wind along the bay. And it’s not a problem to come and go to town for dinner or activities. Although the cabins and neighboring buildings are close together, the widows are placed to make your view uninterrupted by others. So we felt like we were on our own. The bed was comfy as was seating, and we ate dinner in one night just to enjoy the location. The space is cozy for sure - it’s meant for 2 - but definitely doable. Seeing sea otters from our window, experiencing the movement of the tides at your doorstep… unforgettable memories were made. We would recommend this little cabin for sure!

We enjoyed two wonderful days at your Indigo cabin as an anniversary present from our daughter. We arrived with many plans and a checklist of things to do. We left totally satiated and with none of our list(s) addressed. The peace and tranquility of the cabin and its location on the beach is mesmerizing. Once there we left only to dine out in the evening. We were otherwise content to simply enjoy the simple serenity of the place and reflect upon our 50 years together. What a totally enjoyable and comfortable place to again acknowledge and confirm that inner joy and contentment is within ourselves and not on someone else's shelf. Thank you for providing the vehicle for such an enjoyable, relaxing and rewarding time. We look forward to charging our batteries with you again when the opportunity presents itself. KJS & NJS v
